Use long-grain, best-quality basmati rice. Do not use short to medium-grain, starchy rice.

Basmati Rice

Apart from basmati rice, you need these ingredients. 

Ingredients

Soak basmati rice in water for 30 minutes.

Step 1

Add ghee to the inner pot. Add spices, and cumin seeds. Fry them for 40 to 50 seconds.

Step 2

Add soaked rice without water. Gently fry the rice for a minute.

Step 3

Add soaked rice water and an additional ¼ cup of water and salt. Stir to combine.

Step 4

Pressure Cook rice for 3 minutes in an instant pot.

Step 5

Open the lid, fluff the rice using a fork, and sprinkle chopped coriander or cilantro leaves.

Step 6

Serve Jeera Rice with your favourite curry.
