Jeera Aloo

Jeera Aloo does not require a lot of ingredients. It is a comforting no onion, no garlic dish.

Ingredient

Boil the potatoes. Remove their skin and cut them into big size even pieces. 

Step 1

Dry roast half of cumin seeds, coriander seeds and peppercorns for 2 – 3 minutes. Grind them to a coarse powder.

Step 2

Heat oil. Add the remaining cumin seeds, asafoetida and fchopped ginger. Saute for 2 – 3 minutes.

Step 3

Add the diced potatoes. Sprinkle turmeric powder, salt, green chilli, and special seasoning masala.

Step 4

Cover and cook the potatoes on medium heat. Allow them to become golden brown and crispy on the edges.

Step 5

Add lot of fresh coriander.
