Green Peas

Fresh Green Peas are the key ingredient for this freezing process. 

Ingredients

Shell the green peas and take out the kernels. Discard the yellow, or sprouted green peas for freezing.

Step 1

Heat water. Once the water starts boiling, add a sugar to it. Add the  peas. Stir. Cook for exactly 5 minutes.

Step 2

Transfer the blanched green peas to the ice-cold water to stop the cooking process.

Step 3

Drain all the cold water and transfer the blanched green peas to a colander. 

Step 4

Next, spread the peas on a clean kitchen towel in a single layer. And let them air dry for 1 hour.

Step 5

Once the green peas are dry, transfer them to ziplock freezer-friendly bags or containers.

Step 6

Seal the ziplock bags, write the freezing date and store them in the freezer.

Step 7

Store Frozen Peas for 3 - 6 months
