Chana Pulao

You need basmati rice, potato, onion, and few other pantry staples for this pulao.

Ingredients

Use either canned chickpeas or boil them from scratch for this pulao.

Heat oil. Add whole spices, cumin, and saute for 20 seconds to release the aroma.

Step 1

Add onion, ginger garlic paste, and saute till onion become golden.

Step 2

Add soaked chickpeas (chana), spices, and salt. Saute for 1 minute.

Step 3

Add water. Stir. Pressure Cook chana for 20 minutes in an instant pot or for 3 whistles in a pressure cooker.

Step 4

Once chickpeas (chana) are cooked. Add diced potato or other vegetables.

Step 5

Add soaked basmati rice and ghee. Stir. Pressure Cook Pulao for 3 minutes.

Step 6

Let the steam release naturally. Fluff the chana pulao using fork.
