Gajar Halwa

You need winter special red carrot for making this halwa. Other Ingredients - Khoya, water, milk, sugar.

Ingredients

Grate the carrots. Use the bigger holes of the grater. 

Step 1

Pressure cook grated carrots, water and  sugar for 1 whistle. Do not mix them. 

Step 2

Transfer pressure cooked carrots to a pan along with milk and cardamom powder. Start cooking.

Step 3

Cook over low heat till all the moisture is absorbed by the carrots.

Step 4

Keep stirring the halwa at regular intervals while slow cooking. 

EXPERT TIP

Add crumbled khoya. Mix. Keep on cooking the halwa on low flame for the next 5 – 10 minutes.

Step 5

Serve Gajar Halwa warm garnished with nuts.
