Gluten Free Batter. Gram Flour (Besan), Rice Flour, and Water

Chilla Batter

Combine rice flour and gram flour.

Step 1

Add water in small portions while making batter. Keep whisking batter.

Step 2

Besan Chilla batter should be silky smooth, lump free, and of dropping consistency

Expert Tip

Let the batter rest for 10 – 15 minutes before making the chilla

Step 3

Add seasoning, ¼ cup more water and whisk the batter to combine all the ingredients.

Step 4

Combine all the vegetables, spices, and salt. Besan Chilla filling is ready!

Use a thick heavy bottom dosa pan or tawa. Make sure pan is piping hot else batter will stick to the pan.
